Many of these benefits stem from the material’s combination of lightweight and inherent high strength – delivering significant advantages across all stages of the manufacturing, design, planning, construction, management and maintenance process.
Manufacuring
Metrotile recently achieved the green accreditation ISO14001 having implemented a water recycling facility at our factory in Belgium. In the past, water has been the greatest waste product from the manufacture of our tiles, our new system treats and reuses water for an extremely low waste process.
Lightweight goes a long way
While it is true that steel is energy intensive to manufacture, it is worth remembering that one tonne of steel can cover up to eight times the area as a one tonne of traditional materials such as concrete.
