Installation
A lightweight, modern construction material, the installation of Metrotile lightweight steel roofing is a fast, straightforward and efficient process.
Because of our product’s inherent low weight, deliveries to site, the storage of materials and movement around site are all achieved with virtually zero breakages, allowing order quantities to be accurately assessed and keeping waste to an absolute minimum.
Once on site, installation may be undertaken conventionally, from scaffolding, or if space is at a premium, carried out from a ‘cherry picker’. In either case, the process is the same; the large format Metrotile sheets are simply locked into place and nailed through to the roof battens, delivering a fast, secure and elegant roof solution.
Tiles may be shaped, cut or formed to suit each individual roof design and so can easily accommodate accessories such as roof windows, vents, solar tubes and solar panels - as well as simple or complex hip and valley arrangements. For more details of the complete range of Metrotile accessories, see pages 34 to 39 of this brochure.
Being a dry-fix system also has a number of advantages. Clearly, this helps the speed of installation and reduces the need for ancillary materials to be ordered, stored and disposed of; however, it also ensures that installation is far less weather-dependant helping to add certainty to the construction programme and ensuring a more efficient flow of internal trades.
