40-Year Weatherproof Guarantee Terms
Subject to the following terms and conditions, Metrotile UK (MUK) expressly guarantee as follows:
Weather Security: That each Metrotile comprised in the roof, installed in compliance with the manufacturer’s installation guidelines and normal standards of good workmanship, will remain weatherproof for not less than forty years from the date of this guarantee.
The obligation of MUK, in the event of a claim under this guarantee, shall be limited solely to the supply of replacement products or the supply of the nearest available substitute at the time of the claim.
TERMS & CONDITIONS OF THE GUARANTEE
- The foregoing guarantee shall not apply where the damage or deterioration complained of is not attributable solely, in the case of the tile guarantee, to any defect in the tiles as supplied or, in the case of the installation guarantee, in the installation of the roof.
- Neither MUK nor the Installation Contractor shall, by virtue of their respective guarantee, be liable for any consequential, indirect or special loss or damage of any kind whatsoever, including but not limited to, damage caused by leaks.
- The forgoing guarantees shall not apply unless payment has been made in full for the supply and installation of the roof.
- MUK and the Installation Contractor shall be promptly notified of any deterioration or other defects in the tile or roof giving rise to a claim under these guarantees.
- Claims are to be forwarded, in the first instance, to MUK at the address overleaf, and must be received within one year from the expiry of the guarantee under which such claim is made.
- Any replacement products supplied will be covered under these guarantees for the period of time, if any, remaining unexpired at the time of their supply.
- The guarantees only apply when the tiles have been installed within the United Kingdom, Eire, or Gibraltar by a roofing contractor approved by MUK.
- The foregoing guarantees shall not apply where any damage or deterioration is due to accident, fire, abnormal atmospheric pollution, war or act of war, riot, civil commotion or act of God and, in the case of the tile guarantee, to incorrect handling or installation or use for a purpose for which they were not designed or not recommended by MUK.
- The benefits conferred by these guarantees shall not affect the consumer’s statutory rights.
Should you wish for or require an installation warranty on your Metrotile roof, MUK can offer a separate installation guarantee for roofs installed by approved Metrotile installers that have also been checked and signed off by a member of the Metrotile UK sales or technical team.
