Metrotile The Solution For Council Specified Roof Replacement

The Challenge

The Radford Adult Education Centre was experiencing ongoing issues with its traditional clay tile roof. Over time, the tiles had deteriorated, which led to rotting of the underlying membrane and insulation. With increased costs for maintenance, repairs and damage, it was decided that a full roof replacement was required to restore performance, bring the building in line with modern standards, and reduce running costs. Coventry City Council put the job out for tender, looking for a reliable roof tile to replace the existing roof.

The Solution

The Installation

Due to the shape of the building, the team adopted a specific broken bond method to align the pattern correctly, resulting in a clean and seamless finish. Metrotile approved installers, Russell Trew LTD, undertook the work on the roof replacement, and aside from slight delays caused by scaffolding, due to the installers expertise matched with the ease of installation of the Metrotile roof system, the difficult detailing around the hips and valleys caused no delays or issues and the installation process went smoothly.

Crucially, the centre was able to remain in use throughout the works, with no need to evacuate staff or service users during the reroofing process.
