A re-roofing project on a primary school in the North West was initially completed in stages by two separate roofing contractors. The roof system installed utilised Metrotile’s lightweight roofing products, in the Charcoal Woodshake profile. However, once the installation was complete, the school began experiencing several issues — predominantly roof leakages, caused by damage to the roofing underlay, and dented roof tiles.

The Challenge

Despite being supplied with high-quality Metrotile products, faults in installation led to significant problems for the client. These included:

• Water ingress through the roof

• Damaged and poorly installed underlay

• Aesthetic and structural issues caused by dented tiles

• Getting the roof installation finalised in a tight timeframe over the school half-term
